No turning back

I signed my Clipper contract on the 12th of the 12th, 2012. There’s no turning back now. Yes, I am going to sail around the world as part of the longest yacht race!!!! In a little over a year's time I will be on one of these boats!

Today I paid the first installment. I don’t really know where the rest of the money is going to come from to pay for this little adventure, but if I really want to do it I’ll find a way.

It is amazing how the race has taken over my thoughts and plans. I am constantly thinking about how it will be - the space of the berth, being with 20 other people in such a small space, what will I pack, sea sickness, the expanse, the stars, the sunsets, the storms, how it will be not to see green for 33 days on end...

I live in a little cottage that is literally like a tree house - three stories with my bedroom in the roof space with a sky light. Every night and every morning I watch the leaves move in the wind and the clouds pass through the branches. 

Will I miss not seeing trees for weeks at sea. Nullarbor - no trees.

How my life will change.

But how I absolutely look forward to it!!!! ;-)
